Privacy policy

What Payinference processes, what its schemas refuse to accept, and how the little it holds is used.

This document is a draft pending review by counsel. It describes how the platform works today and is published for transparency. It is not yet a final legal agreement.

Who we are

Payinference provides payment decision infrastructure. A merchant backend calls the Decision API before a payment and receives one executable instruction back. The merchant executes that instruction through its own payment stack. Payinference never executes payments and never moves, holds or touches funds.

Information we process

The platform is built to need very little. It processes the following categories.

  • Workspace and account data. Names, work email addresses and role assignments for the people who sign in to the dashboard.
  • Payment context. The Decision API accepts a deliberately narrow payment context, such as amount, currency, candidate providers and merchant identifiers. Request schemas are strict and reject any field outside the contract.
  • Decisions and outcomes. The instruction returned for each decision, its reason codes, the policy rules it matched and the outcome the merchant reports back.
  • Operational telemetry. Aggregate metrics built from bucketed amounts and hashed merchant identifiers rather than raw values.

Information we do not accept

Card numbers, CVV codes and cardholder identity are not part of the API contract. The request schemas reject them at the boundary, so they are not received, stored or logged. This is an architectural property of the platform, not a handling policy.

How we use information

Information is used to compute decision instructions, maintain provider health and pricing signals, show your workspace its own analytics and audit history, secure accounts, and bill for decisions. Payinference does not sell data and does not use your payment context to advertise.

Cookies and local storage

The dashboard uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. This marketing site stores your theme preference in your browser. The site does not run advertising trackers.

Retention and deletion

Decision and outcome records form your workspace audit history and are retained while the workspace is active. You can ask us to delete workspace data by contacting the address below.
